How to Fix Teams Room camera not detected

Microsoft Teams Rooms reports 'No camera detected' or shows a black tile when the camera should be visible.

The Teams Rooms console can't enumerate the room's USB camera, so it can't add it as a video source for meetings.

Why this happens

Quick fix (for end users)

  • Power-cycle the room's compute module (not just the touch console).
  • Reseat the USB cable at both ends. If the camera plugs into a hub, try plugging directly into the compute module.

Admin / engineer fix

  • Check Device Manager from the Teams Rooms admin account. The camera should appear under Imaging devices or Cameras.

  • Update the camera firmware via the manufacturer's tool (Logitech Sync, Poly Lens, Yealink USB Manager, etc.).

  • If the camera draws more than 4.5W, verify the USB hub or compute module supplies enough power.

  • Run the Teams Rooms diagnostics from the admin console — Settings → Microsoft Teams Rooms → Device Health.
